NATIONAL BLOCK PARENT® WEEK - OCTOBER 22nd - 28th, 2017

"Celebrating Our Past as Well as Our Future!BPPC Inc

The Block Parent® Program of Canada celebrates 49 years of providing a safety network of volunteers for people in need!

As the longest running safety program in Canada, our easily recognizable sign, with its red and white logo, symbolizes the safety and security over 25,000 volunteers provide to those in need.  It also symbolizes the close relationship our volunteers have with police and educators to provide this immediate assistance.

This year the theme for Block Parent® Week is “Celebrating Our Past as Well as Our Future”.

During National Block Parent® Week, we encourage families and small businesses to become a Block Parent® and help us to continue to protect communities coast to coast.

ICONIC CHILD SAFETY PROGRAM SEEKS FUNDS AS CANADA CELEBRATES ITS 150th ANNIVERSARYBPPC Inc

While Canadians are celebrating our nation’s 150 years, the Block Parent® Program of Canada® Inc. is facing a serious funding shortage.

We are seeking the financial help of corporate partners and individuals to assist in the continued delivery of our community safety program.

The Block Parent® Program is the longest running child safety program in Canada since its inception in 1968.  That’s almost 50 years of protecting the most vulnerable in our communities.  Many Canadians fondly remember their parents participating as Block Parents or perhaps were helped themselves by a Block Parent®.  Children still need help and Block Parents are still providing a safe and secure network.  All Block Parents are security screened and when they are available to assist they display the red and white Block Parent® sign in their window. When a child or senior is lost or in trouble and sees the Block Parent® window sign they know they can be assured of a safe haven where they can receive the help they need.

According to Linda Patterson, President of the Block Parent® Program of Canada, “Not only do we continue to play a critical role in keeping children safe but as our population ages we also provide an important safety resource for seniors and others as well.”

The local work of the Block Parent® Program is carried out by committed and caring volunteers but funding for the National Program is essential so they can be there for those who need help the most.

Your immediate help is needed to assist in the continued delivery of this uniquely Canadian safety program safety program.
